What is black body radiation?
- Black body is defined as body that absorb all electromagnetic radiation.
- Black body radiation is a electromagnetic radiation that emits due to it object's temperature.
- In classical theory, it used to explain the continuous spectrum emitted by black body.
If an object is heated sufficiently, it starts to emit light at the red end of the spectrum — it is "red hot". Heating it further causes the colour to change, as light at shorter wavelengths (higher frequencies) begins to be emitted. It turns out that a perfect emitter is also a perfect absorber. When it is cold, such an object looks perfectly black, as it emits practically no visible light, because it absorbs all the light that falls on it. Consequently, an ideal thermal emitter is known as a black body, and the radiation it emits is called black body radiation.

Dalam teori klasik, Apabila objek legap dipanaskan ia akan mula berubah warna. Sebagai keputusannya, warna panjang-gelombang rendah akan kelihatan. Ianya akan berubah dari warna merah, kuning dan ke putih. Radiasi terma akan terpancar dari objek bercahaya itu terdiri dari "continuous spectrum" iaitu dari warna dari infrafed ke warna ultraviolet/
Apabila ianya sejuk, objek itu akan jadi hitam yang sempurna dan tak memancarkan sebarang cahaya kerana ia menyerap semua cahaya nampak (visible light, visible light adalah sebahagian dari radiasi elektromagnatik) yang jauh ke atasnya. Idea ini digunakan sebagai untuk menjelaskan "black body" dan radiasi yang dipancarkan dari "black body" itu dinamakan "black body radiation".
